Andrew R. Cowan

Andrew R. Cowan is an attorney with Ecoff Campain & Kay, LLP. His practice focuses on transactional work and litigation involving intellectual property and business disputes, including trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters, as well as broader commercial litigation arising from contract disputes, partnership conflicts, and unfair business practices.

Mr. Cowan represents businesses and individuals in both state and federal courts, and has experience handling motion practice and complex litigation strategy across all phases of litigation, from case inception through resolution. He also has experience in intellectual property portfolio management, including trademark prosecution, acquisition, licensing, enforcement, and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cowan practiced at an Orange County litigation boutique, where he handled federal trademark and copyright disputes, patent and trademark prosecution, and proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Cowan holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Davis. He earned his J.D. from Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law in 2024, graduating cum laude. During law school, he served as a Judicial Extern in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Mr. Cowan is admitted to practice in California, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern, and Northern Districts of California, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
