In 2018, the firm’s client filed a civil lawsuit relating to the investment of $1.5
million in connection with the purchase of an interest in certain real property. Ecoff
Campain & Kay then substituted into the case, and filed a second lawsuit against the
same parties based upon additional claims. After repeated lengthy delays with respect
to the trial, the matter proceeded to trial before a jury in April to May 2025, represented
by trial counsel Lawrence C. Ecoff. Following several weeks of trial, the jury found in
favor of the firm’s client, awarding damages in excess of $3.9 million, plus $1.5 million in
punitive damages. The firm was also awarded pre-judgment interest in excess of $1.7
million dollars.
